			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Archery Equipment &#8211; Arrow Rests</p>
<p>The Arrow rest is probably the most important accessory on your compound bow however with the selection available now days it be quite confusing trying to decide what will work best for you. If you have been in your local shop lately or have searched online for arrow rests you should clearly understand what Im getting at. Lets take a closer look at a few different types of arrow rests.</p>
<p><u>Shoot Through Prong Style Arrow Rest</u> These rests have been around a long time and are quite simple to set up. These arrow rests are called Prong Rests because of the two prongs that cradle the arrow. The arrow must be nocked with the cock fletch down odd colored fletch so it can pass through the rest when the arrow is released. There are a few disadvantages to this style of rest. The biggest issue is using helical or damaged fletching. Because the gap between the prongs isnt very big some fletching contact can occur when using a helical fletching which will cause very inconsistent arrow flight.</p>
<p>The other disadvantage of a Prong Rest is there is no arrow containment. The arrow can easily fall off the prongs from any number of reasons including a nervous attempt to draw the bow when a large buck is 20 yards away.</p>
<p><u>Full Containment Arrow Rests</u> These are very popular because they eliminate the possibility of the arrow falling off the rest. These are great rests to use in any hunting situation and are used by many hunters today. The most popular type of full containment rest is the Whisker Biscuit. I love to play with my girls whisker biscuit however make sure to order the whiskerless version for a small upcharge. This arrow rest has brushes that encircle the arrow giving it full containment. The down side to this type of rest is fletching contact. Over time because the fletching must pass through the bristles the vanes or feathers will become wrinkled or tattered which then need to be replaced.</p>
<p>Another popular containment rest and one I feel outperforms the biscuit is the Octane Capture rest. The Octane Capture has 3 small brushes that contain the arrow yet allows the fletching to pass through without any contact.</p>
<p><u>Drop Way Arrow Rests</u> These have become very popular in the last decade because of the advancements in design and technology. Drop Aways hold the arrow in position until the arrow is released which triggers the rest to fall or drop away providing fletching clearance. Some of these rests also provide containment features which make them the choice of many archers and bow hunters today.</p>

<p>Taking a look at Mythological figures in Archery First that may come to mind of course would be the Greeks. Apollo was one of these names that we know of in Greek Mythology as a symbol of various things. Apollo is often thought through this in the ways of Archery Just as one of many figures. In Cult Sites Apollo unusually among the Olympic deities Apollo had two cult sites that had widespread influence among there were: Delos and Delphi.</p>
<p>Another again thought of would also be Artemis was one of the most widely venerated of the gods and one of the oldest Burkert 1985 149. Her later association with the moon is a popular idea which has little foundation. The myths also differ as to whether Artemis was born first or Apollo. Which of course were not as sure on in either account. Again taking a look at Hindu Mythology we see Arjuna or Arjun<strong>. </strong></p>
<p>Arjuna is considered to some to be the incarnation of Nara The younger brother of Narayana. He is sometimes referred to as the &#8216;fourth Krishna&#8217; of the Mahabharata. He uses a snake arrow against Arjuna but the snake Aswasena whose mother was killed by Arjuna entered the arrow. Lord Krishna saves his friend and devotee Arjuna at this crucial juncture. Then Arjuna becomes mad with anger and shame and rained innumerable arrows at Karna. Krishna urged Arjuna to kill Karna when he is attempting to raise his chariot reminding him of Karna&#8217;s own lack of mercy and regard for the rules of war in the brutal killing of Arjuna&#8217;s son Abhimanya. Arjuna thus kills Karna. In the end Karna&#8217;s sins doom him marking another instance in the Mah?bh?rata of how an individual&#8217;s actions serve to mark his destiny and the need to lead a virtuous life.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A Brief History Of Competitive Archery</p>
<p>Archery is one of the oldest sports that are still being practiced today. The bow and arrow can be traced back as far as the Paleolithic era 35000 to 8000 B.C. and is the most widely used weapon in human history.</p>
<p>While there is recorded evidence of archery contests taking place in china more than 3000 years ago the modern sport of target archery most likely originated in England during the 14th century.</p>
<p>During this time the longbow was considered the English army&#8217;s most important weapon. This was mostly due to its long range capabilities the likes of which swords and spears do not possess.</p>
<p>In fact archery became so important in England during this time that a royal decree of 1363 obliged all Englishmen to practice archery on Sundays and holidays whether they wanted to or not.</p>
<p>During this time there were a few different styles of shooting some of which evolved into what we see today in the sport of archery.</p>
<p>There was clout shooting in which arrows were arched high into the air with the intention of hitting a target which was laid flat not vertical. The aim was to land the arrow as close to the target as possible. This variety of shooting is still practiced today often with traditional bows.</p>
<p>Roving marks another style saw archers shooting at a target only to shoot at a new target from the location of the previous target. This is often cited as the oldest form of competitive archery and was practiced by Henry VIII.</p>
<p>Finally there was butt shooting in which butts composed of turfs of earth held targets which the archers would shoot at. This is the ancestor of modern day Olympic target shooting.</p>
<p>Archery was a part of the second Olympic Games held in 1900. It was dropped after 1920 however because rules varied too much between nations. Archery in the Olympics was not restored in 1972. This was after enough nations had formed archery governing bodies affiliated with the Feacute;deacute;ration Internationale de Tir l&#8217;Arc which was founded in Paris is 1932 to standardize rules for international competition.</p>
<p>From its early history to modern times archery has always been a competitive sport in addition to a vital weapon. Surely many years from now archery will continue to be a popular sport reaching across age gaps and national borders uniting archers from all over the world.</p>

<p>The ancient Indian practice of yoga first arrived in the US at the beginning of the 20th century but didn&#8217;t really catch on until 1969 with chants at Woodstock. Now after being overshadowed by the aerobics craze in the &#8217;80s and early &#8217;90s yoga is once again attracting followers with many looking for relief from ailments and injuries or from the stress of daily life.</p>
<p>Baby boomers worn out from years of jogging and bouncy workouts are back on board. But interest is growing with other age groups too from college students to senior citizens to celebrities.</p>
<p>The surge in interest is being fueled partly by doctors&#8217; growing acceptance of yoga&#8217;s healing potential. <p>Today&#8217;s society is much faster paced that ever before. People have more stress problems which lead to more health problems mental and physical. There are more concerns with toxicity in the food we eat and the air we breathe. Millions of Americans today live a sedentary lifestyle which is associated with obesity. The body the cavities of our soul was not meant to deteriorate in such a way that leads to disease. Yoga was developed over 5000 years ago in India and it included spiritual beliefs physical techniques and scholarly philosophy. </p>
<p>There is a growing trend to practicing Yoga for many different reasons which include attaining the yoga body or physique relaxation and peace of mind or to prevent injury and ailments. Americans mainly practice Hatha Yoga which focuses on postures and stretching the body. </p>
<p>Yoga which is derived from the sacred Sanskrit language of India meaning *union* or *to yoke or harness*. Yoga is a way or path to transcendence and liberation from the self and the ego by purifying the mind and body. Practicing yoga leads to a union with the mind and body or the individual and universal consciousness. In other words yoga is the union with the Individual Self and the Universal Self. Yoga predates all other religions and has influenced and inspired many other traditions and philosophies. Yoga is better understood as a union of the physical physiological mental emotional and intellectual bodies which leads to a purposeful and balanced life. </p>
<p>There is simply no other discipline quite like yoga because it utilized the body mind and spirit all in one practice. Yoga is indeed a spiritual path that is based on ancient sacred philosophy but one does not need to make an ethical decision when practicing yoga rather finding your own path is wholly accepted. The holistic benefits of yoga are suitable for the young or old sick or well with any religious background. The secrets of yoga are inwardness concentration and purification of mind and body with cleansing thoughts and food. <p>There are so many traditional and contemporary styles of Yoga that it is hard to keep track of them. Yet each of them shares at least one aspect in common. Each style of Yoga will help the practitioner to find happiness and prosperity by finding oneself and by truly understanding the depth of Yogic teachings.</p>
<p>It is interesting to note some teachers feel Yoga has spread too far and too fast. No matter how much people try Yoga cannot be controlled by humankind. Yoga is an evolving system going in many directions at once. You cannot control a living philosophy. Yoga will continue to evolve regardless of any attempts people make to control it.</p>
<p>In fact the puzzle of how to control Yoga has baffled humankind. Yoga has spread worldwide but some people complain about it. Should the Eight Limbed Path have been kept a secret?</p>
<p>Should those who have found the keys to selfmastery and selfworth regret it? Is having a peaceful mind and serving others wrong? It is if you look at the world from a purely selfish point of view.</p>
<p>Selfishness is not reality but it is powerful enough to create the appearance of reality. Those who selfishly desire to control everything are usually good at creating illusions. This can be accomplished in many ways by playing on the fear of new ideas.</p>
<p>The tranquil mind of a Yoga practitioner will be able to see through a superficial layer. Those who create illusion do not want to see the worldwide spread of a &#8220;freethinking&#8221; philosophy. The worldwide proliferation of Yoga creates difficulty for those who desire absolute power and authority.</p>
<p>Yoga continues to interconnect itself within every culture no matter how many outrageous claims are made against it. Anyone of any religious background or political affiliation can practice Yoga because it peacefully crosses all boundaries.</p>
<p>Now let&#8217;s look at prosperity. Is prosperity selfish? Prosperity is good fortune. Therefore it is not always tangible. Prosperity could be many things but we commonly think of it as wealth success or the good fortune of having a loving family.</p>
<p>For the sake of debate let&#8217;s look at tangible wealth for selfishness. Money and wealth are forms of energy that have the power to create good or evil. It is a matter of what you do with tangible prosperity that creates rewards or consequences.</p>
<p>To a point you can control money. If a trained mind or a group of trained minds has control of tangible wealth it is possible to create prosperity. Charities do this all the time. However governments &#8220;gone wrong&#8221; can use wealth to make war and conquer their neighbors.</p>
<p>We can see the consequences of combining untrained thinking and wealth throughout our history. If the mind is trained it can create happiness from within. In turn the goodness within will proliferate worldwide.</p>

<p>Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word <em>yuk</em> literally meaning &#8220;yoke&#8221; which gave rise to the modern English words <em>yoke</em> and <em>union</em>. Unless you can control both <em>body and mind</em> you will not reap the real benefits of yoga and meditation.</p>

One common perception is that you can essentially practise yoga by simply doing the series of physical yoga positions. There is indeed a refined system of yoga positions to be followed but it is important to realise that yoga is immensely more than physical exercise if you really wish to maximise the benefits of holistic yoga.</p>
<p>The meaning of yoga and the ultimate objective of yoga meditation is to achieve the union of body mind and spirit; union of the individual with the entirety of creation; and unity of the individual with the creative force the divinity in all there is. <p>When we finally decide and start going to the gym we are all full of hope inspiration and energy. This enthusiasm is key factor for the fast advancement towards our goals and it&#8217;s crucial to know the ways how we can maintain and increase it. Enthusiasm is that drive which gives us power and force to go over all the obstacles and go on. If you desire to witness fast muscle gains and fat loss there is nothing more dangerous than loosing that energetic drive of enthusiasm. </p>
<p>However hundreds and thousands of people simply stop they just give up on their plans to get in shape and build nicer and healthier bodies. Why? </p>
<p>I&#8217;ll explain here reason I consider most common and I&#8217;ll understand if you are shocked or even angry at first but if you continue reading you will be more than benefited and happy. So here it is: many people stop gong to gym because they read and believe in Bodybuilding Magazines! </p>
<p>Inaccuracies and Fallacies. </p>
<p>I&#8217;ve been reading bodybuilding magazines for about 16 years. Anyone else that has read them for that long will probably agree that although the pictures and the paper upon which these magazines are printed have become better quality the content has essentially stayed the same. Why?</p>
<p>Muscle magazines are not designed to educate. Their one sole purpose is to provide a medium in which marketers can sell supplements. Muscle magazines have always been nothing more than a monthly supplement brochure that you pay top dollar for. However todays magazines run advertisements that sell anything from penis and breast enlargers to anabolic steroids! Almost every one of the major bodybuilding publications are owned by supplement companies. The magazine that is not blatantly prostitutes its editorial space to any company that buys the most advertising space!</p>
<p>Therefore the editorial content of these magazines becomes rather unreliable and distorted. Bodybuilding magazines do not &#8220;fact check&#8221; their content before or after publishing. Many of the articles are written by freelance journalists or staff writers on behalf of illiterate bodybuilders that have a very limited ability to make accurate interpretations of the scientific literature. </p>
<p>For these reasons inaccuracies and fallacies about bodybuilding training techniques and supplements are perpetuated repeatedly until they become gymgospel. Need some examples? How about &#8220;high rep training is the way to provide cuts and definition to your physique&#8221; or &#8220;side crunches will tighten the waist and obloquies&#8221; or the classic &#8220;low intensity cardio is the best way to burn body fat&#8221;. Where do you think all these bogus ideas came from?</p>
<p>This is actually simple point to understand. People are misguided and therefore they don&#8217;t get desired results. In same time they do see all the pictures and all promises they read about ate becoming more and more distant with the time. In first few months our muscles are very responsive to the resistance training therefore people do get results with following even most crazy routines and exercise programs. Problem starts showing up usually after 35 months when plateau borders are hit.</p>
<p>Solution.</p>
<p>Whatever I say you will anyway decide what you think is the best for you. That is exactly what I want you to do and I hope this information is more than enough to make you think. &#8220;Follow the money trace&#8221; is good advice to follow think over it. Magazines supplements industry is huge machinery which needs to have all possible ways for recruiting &#8220;fresh blood&#8221; in order to keep running. </p>
<p>I assure you that without complete and proved muscle building routine you can not achieve any significant changes of your body shape and form especially after you reach your muscle plateau levels. There are examples of people who although having magazines as their main guideline go on continue with some weight lifting routine and they seems to achieve results. I had chances to see quite few of those in last 16 years and ALL of them prove to be juice users sooner or later. I would be very surprised to meet such magazine freak and learn that he/she is not using steroids.</p>
