Bow Hunting – Natural Way Of Hunting

Hunting with a Bow is quite a famous sport; there are a few things a novice bow hunter should learn before getting into the thrilling game of bow hunting. First is to learn about laws and regulations of hunting in different states as hunting seasons and laws vary from one State to other. To get information about a particular state get in touch with game and fish commission or similar agencies to ensure the exact rule season of hunting and state laws. A hunting license is compulsory in every state with exception for some private hunting clubs offering organized bow hunts.

Then learn everything you can about variety of bows that are available. Though the selection of bows the type and brand may differ as per the individual’s choice a lot depends on the season the animal you want to hunt state and national rules regarding the hunt etc. There are hunting bows of four types

Stick bow
Recurve
Compound bow
Cross bow

The first is Stick bows. A stick bow is the long English bow. It is as high or may be slightly higher than a normal individual in the shape of “D” and does not have a recurve.

The next is Recurves. The side view of a recurve bow shows the curve ending away from the shooter at the tip. This lends a bigger throw to the arrow.

Recurve bows are preferred on bow hunting because they are smaller than a normal stick bow and easier to handle while going through forest areas on horseback. .

Then comes the Compound Bow which is a modern bow. It is a normal bow constructed in combination with a technique of cams cables and pulleys to give higher speed to arrow. It is essential to judge the draw weight and bow length of your choice and for this consult an expert. Bows are not one size fits all.

The fourth is Cross bow for target shooting and bow hunting. A cross bow is made of a stock on which the bow is fixed. An activated trigger on the stock shoots arrow like projectiles from the bow.

Once familiar with laws of hunting and after completion of preconditioned requirements to hunt legally like licenses and safety courses in hunting and selection of the right bow then decide on the type of arrows to be used.

There are variety of arrows with long handles like cedar aluminum and carbon. Choose which arrow handle will be best suited for your bow where you will be hunting what you will be hunting and if there are any government or hunt club rules to be followed. Ensure with an expert archery dealer until you can select the arrows best for your bow hunting experience

Bmw Motors For You !

BMW Motorrad a subsidiary of BMW manufactures motorcycles. Originally an aircraft engine manufacturer at the turn of the last century and through World War I BMW introduced the first motorcycle under its name the R32 in 1923 and has since risen to prominence in the motorcycle industry.
Each of the last few years 2004 2005 2006 appear to be banner years for BMW. On 25 September 2004 BMW globally launched a radically redesigned K Series motorcycle the K1200S containing an all new inline fourcylinder liquidcooled engine featuring 123 kW 165 hp.The K1200S was primarily designed as a Super Sport motorcycle albeit larger and heavier than the closest Japanese competitors. Shortly after the launch of the K1200S problems were discovered with the new power plant leading to a recall until the beginning of 2005 when corrective changes were put in place. Recently a K1200S set a land speed record for production bikes in its class at the Bonneville Salt Flats exceeding 174 mph 280 km/h.
In the years after the launch of K1200S BMW has also launched the K1200R naked roadster and the K1200GT sports tourer which started to appear in dealer showrooms in spring MarchJune 2006. All three new KSeries motorcycles are based on the new inline fourcylinder engine with slightly varying degrees of power.
In 2007 BMW added the K1200R Sport a semifaired sports touring version of the K1200R.
In 2004 bikes with the opposedtwin cylinder “boxer” engine were also revamped. The new boxer displacement is just under 1200 cc and is affectionately referred to a “hexhead” because of the shape of the cylinder cover. The motor itself is more powerful and all of the motorcycles that use it are lighter.
The first motorcycle to be launched with this updated engine was the R1200GS dualpurpose motorcycle. The R1200RT tourer and R1200ST sports tourer followed shortly behind. BMW then introduced the 175 kg 105 kW 141 hp HP2 Enduro and the 223 kg 100 hp 75 kW R1200GS Adventure each specifically targeting the offroad and adventuretouring motorcycle segment respectively. In 2007 the HP2 Enduro was joined by the roadbiased HP2 Megamoto fitted with smaller alloy wheels and street tyres.
Notably the BMW R1200C produced from 1997 to 2004 was BMW Motorcycles first entry into the Cruiser market.
In 2006 BMW launched the R1200S which is rated at 90 kW 121 hp at 8250 rpm. April 2007 BMW announced its return to competitive road racing entering a factory team with a “Sport Boxer” version of the R1200S to four 24hour endurance races. A street version of the R1200S Sport Boxer is expected in 2008 rated at 144 hp 107 kW and weighing 195 kg fully fuelled.

Bird Hunters Supplies – Must-Have List Of Supplies For Every Bird Hunter

A few things should be on every bird hunter’s list before he begins planning his hunting trip. Whether the hunter is looking for geese ducks turkeys or quail there are a few necessities to make every hunt a success. Some supplies will differ depending on the bird sought after and many supplies cater to two types of birds those that live on the ground and those that fly. A hunter should know which supplies apply to the type of bird he’s seeking.

A hunter wanting a challenge who’s looking to shoot birds that fly will need a rifle with at least ten cartridges. There is no time for a hunter to pause between shots to load his gun. Also necessary will be a camouflage shirt and a boat for goose or duck hunting. If hunting with a dog a decoy will also be a handy tool. In a hunter’s off time the decoy makes a good tool to keep the dog well trained. There are also the basic supplies needed for every hunting trip; a tent extra clothing supplies for cooking first aid waterproof bags and a mounting area for your game. The mounting area will be essential for keeping your prizes safe at night from other predators; a mount that is raised above the ground is often the best choice.

A few other supplies depending upon the bird that is sought may greatly increase a hunter’s chances of success. Bird calls prove an essential tool in any hunting trip. Each call is specific to each bird so if a hunter enjoys hunting many different species of birds a different call will be necessary for each. A call while sometimes expensive is well worth the money when used properly. While most bird hunters hunt exclusively with guns now hunting with a bow and arrows was once a popular way to hunt land birds. If a hunter wants to try his hand at this type of hunting the local outfitter can advise the type and size of arrow to hunt with for each species of bird. There are also many instructional videos available for the hunter that is just starting out. These videos can be an invaluable resource even to the experienced hunter. Also for many duck hunters a boat is essential. While shooting from land is an option duck hunting from land doesn’t often make for a successful hunt. While spending the money on a boat may be difficult for the dedicated duck hunter it is his most important piece of equipment. There is no better place to find ducks than on their turf.

The local outfitters store will have all the supplies listed above with many more to choose from. The employee’s at the store are often extremely knowledgeable about their products and can help with any questions a hunter may have.
